Recordings
Orchestre Consuelo has been very active on the recording right from the start. Recording in order to promote, to transmit, to perfect a sound, to unite a group... For all these reasons, Victor Julien-Laferrière is committed to defending this aspect of the orchestra's activity, with the aim of making Consuelo a key player in its discography through ambitious co-productions and long-term partnerships :
- With the label Mirare, Consuelo devoted its first recording to Brahms's Serenades, and is now working on a 2-disc set of Tchaikovsky's complete Orchestral suites, a work that has not been included in any contemporary high-quality recordings.
- At the same time, a 4-year live recording of Beethoven's Symphonies is being made with the b·records label, in co-production with the Festival de La Chaise-Dieu.
BEETHOVEN - Symphonies Nos. 5, 6 & 8
Released in Septembre 2025
Victor Julien-Laferrière and its Orchestre Consuelo continue their complete recording of Beethoven's symphonies with this second disc which focuses on the two famous pieces that were premiered on December 22, 1808 : the Fifth and Sixth Symphonies, very contrasting and yet very similar. This CD also contains the Eighth Symphony, that was premiered five years later, and that is sometimes considered to be the younger sister of the "Pastoral" who shares the same key of F major.

TCHAIKOVSKY - Suites Nos. 1 & 2
Released in January 2025
Tchaikovsky's Suites are the least known orchestral pieces of this composer. They yet reveal how his stylistic ressources take advantage of the liberty that is offered by this rather free form. Fugue, ancient dance, popular russian themes... Tchaikovsky's characteristics are still recognizable, in its distinctiveness as well as in his seemingly endless orchestral inventivity.

With this album, Victor Julien-Laferrière lays the first stone of a monumental work : Beethoven's complete symphonies, at the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu in the extraordinary acoustics of its abbatial church. Gathering many chamber musicians, Orchestre Consuelo is building a collective identity based on meticulousness and passion while recording these symphonies Nos. 1, 2 and 4 who already illustrate the quest for universality of Beethoven's symphonic writing.

BRAHMS - Serenades
Released in January 2023
Though only twenty-five years old, Brahms stumbled into a severe artistic crisis after his spectacular rise to European fame. Following the public failure of the D minor Piano Concerto, on which he had worked for five grueling years, he immersed himself in the stylistic world of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven to compose his serenades, as if to seek a new beginning in the symphonic genre.
