The Consuelo orchestra was born in Sens, a region dear to the heart of Victor Julien-Laferrière, who lives and maintains family and artistic ties there.
The orchestra pursues a dynamic of territorial development.
Concerts in Sens are accompanied by activities in schools, nursing homes and the conservatory. Open rehearsals, masterclasses and other events are organized by the musicians and conductor. Each year, Victor Julien-Laferrière also takes part in masterclasses with the cello class at the Sens conservatory.

The next step is to develop these initiatives in Burgundy, and in particular in the Yonne region, in the form of a project entitled "Musique en tout Sens".
It aims to forge links between Sens and the surrounding area, through a partnership with Concerts de Poche. Still absent from the region, this will be the first time the program has been introduced in the region.
This innovative collaboration between Orchestre Consuelo, the Les Sensationnelles festival and Concerts de Poche aims to develop a concert program for children and adults in areas where culture has been relegated (rural areas, priority urban districts).
The program relies on musicians, and in particular the chamber groups that compose it (Quatuor Hermès, Trio Metral, Quatuor Magenta, etc.), to take part in pre-concert activities.
At a later stage, Consuelo would like to act as an operator for the Demos project, coordinating the first Demos Orchestra in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, which does not yet have one.
